Philanthropy and Support

The European Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Kappa actively supports the Sigma Kappa Foundation. The mission of the Sigma Kappa Foundation is to fund educational programs that promote intellectual, leadership, and ethical development among members of Sigma Kappa and others, and to benefit society through philanthropic endeavors including grants for Alzheimer's Disease research and gerontology studies.

Programs supported by the Foundation include:

  • Scholarships for undergraduate and graduate studies
  • Member education and leadership programs, including convention and COTS speakers and the field consultant program
  • Grants for Alzheimers and Gerontology studies
  • The Maine Sea Cost Missionary Society

Although members are not required to participate in philanthropic or fundraising events, according to member interest activities may be planned. These have included participation in the London Memory Walk 2004 and the London Playtex Moonwalk.
