Hello and welcome to my homepage. Following are descriptions of my interests.

Critical Psychology: theoretical and clinical applications. My interest in critical psychology is based on a life-long passion for social and economic justice. It seems to me that a science of behavior should do more than just understand and predict human activity. A science and therapeutic art should assist individuals in understanding how social forces structure and contort our daily lives. However, in addition to explanation there should be guidance for psychological liberation, survival and growth. While critical psychology is a broad field, the list below illustrates what I consider as the three basic areas of research and intervention. Cultural Activism: Chicano art, experimental text, mail art.

I have been involved in the arts for quite some time, mostly in the area of experimental text and visual poetry. I have found that producing artistic and cultural artifacts, including fine art, is an effective means of resisting dominant culture and producing alternative interpretations of everyday life. In essence, I am committed to an art of resistance that undermines complacency and conformity. Experimental poetry and related forms of graphic text allow participants to reconsider the ideology of language, while mail art is a worldwide free-for-all of creativity in a borderless setting.
