Updates on
Swine Flu and Traditional Chinese Medicine
The Centers
for Disease Control Estimates that 60% of Americans will contract the Swine Flu and 25% will get ill from it. At the Community
Health Clinic we have treated about 2 dozen cases so far with pretty good results.
What we have
found
• Ban Lan Gen seems to work
pretty good on swine flu. Ban Lan Gen is the main anti-viral herb in Chinese Medicine and makes a great preventive strategy
if you are in situations where you will be exposed. It comes in freeze dried granules and is taken as a tea. It is inexpensive
and tastes o.k. too.
• If you do get sick, drink
lots of fluids. The more viruses you can wash out of your body, the fewer viruses your immune system will have to deal with.
• Mint Tea or Bo He in Chinese
Medicine, really helps with the sore throat and other symptoms. Mint, Cilantro and dandelion tea is one variation, or Mint,
chrysanthemum and dandelion tea is another.
• Acupuncture really helps get
relief from the symptoms, so if you get sick get in to the clinic and get treated. Call for Appointment 303 744-7676 Clinic
is located at 1529 York Street.
• How do you know if it is time
to go to the Doctor? If you have a fever and Ibuprophen fails to bring down the fever in about an hour after taking it, then
you are a good candidate for serious complications, call your doctor immediately. This is especially true in children.
