| Dec: Astronomy (Week 13, 3 Weeks) | Students used rough drafts (prepared in the classroom) and typed them into a MS Word document. These reports were in the format of newspaper articles written as historical documents describing discoveries and inventions related to Astronomy |

| Feb: Communication (Week 20, 4 Weeks) |
Students were introduced to research tools on the Internet They logged onto the school network with their individual passwords, logged onto the Internet and typed a pre-selected URL into the address bar This Internet site was the home page of Information Please, a web site that offers basic research tools: dictionary, encyclopedias, almanacs, atlases, etc. Students used a teacher generated worksheet with a variety of questions requiring these resources to answer questions |
