Rye

I bought Rye as a pup from Amanda Milliken from the breeding of her Grace (Imp. Boy (Cropper's Cap) x Hazel) and Stuart Davidson's ##Craig, the 1995 International Supreme Champion. This cross also produced Amanda's Bart (2005 USBCHA National Champion) and Ethel ('04 Canadian Champion, '09 Meeker Champion and many times USBCHA National Finalist). Other notable offspring sired by ##Craig are Bev Lambert's incomparable Pippa, Duncan Robertson's 2005 Scottish National Champion Cap and J. Wilson's Jill (dam of ##Maid).

Rye is an exciting dog to work. From the moment he started training, he learned quickly and never needed to repeat a lesson. Rye is quick and responsive to command, but is known to power forward. He is a top rate outrunner with clean and free flanks. Rye has a phenominal ability to read stock in the close work and excels at the shed and pen.

From the beginning of our trialing career together, Rye had remarkable success. He qualified and attended the 2003 Nursery Finals in Sturgis, SD. Rye stepped up to Open competition at 3 yrs of age and he began to amass some remarkable achievements, including multiple year's participating in the USBCHA National Finals and multiple times Double Lift Finalist at such prestigious trials as Meeker ('04 & '07), WSRC, Big Willow, and Sprague River. In addition, we were participants at the Soldier Hollow Invitational in 2006.

Some of Rye's greatest successes have come from his adept handling of tough of sheep on challenging courses. He is exceptionally good with western range ewes...handling them with authority, power and the right type of eye while still being responsive to handling.

Rye has a number of successful offspring trialing in Open sheep or cattle including Judy Loflin's Cam (out of Lass), Tricia Guidry's Tipper (out of Al Zuppan's Babe), Bill Swan's Lena (out of Mist) and my own dogs Ross and Soot (out of my Mist).
