Amazing as it seems, the 2005 Season is over. With the conclusion of the County Meet this past weekend, no more Thursday/Tuesday/Monday  hot dog specials, watching out for Thunderstorms, or the pleasure of watching this team really grow this year. As Leslie noted in her last Coaches' Corner there was a great improvement in quality of strokes and better times as the season went on. Congratulations to you All!

And speaking of All ... How about you parents/volunteers. I know you heard it before, but it is Sooo true, meets can't run without you and your time and effort to pull it off. I've heard numerous other teams comment on how well we run our meets. That is a reflection on you. Thank you! and as David Danier said to me the other day ... why do we do this? It's for the kids ... and that's the truth.

Ok, now for some Results and Pics!! Thank you Ed and Holly Melton for both!

We have several flavors of results. Since the County Meet is so large, Ed provided results on just the Connemarlins. I've also included the Full County Results in case you'd like to see how your friends did. Plus the final team ranking.

Oh, I just have to brag on one person. I'm sure there were other great stories during the weekend, but I was fortunate to witness Katie Deloach (age 11) stepping up to anchor the Free (final) leg of the 13-14 year old girls 200 yard Medley Relay(Event 69). In a great effort, the team finished in the top 20 (#18) ... Way to go Katie ... and Kelsey, Stephanie, and Kristen.

Speaking of bragging a bit. I'm not sure you are aware that a couple of your teammates have been pulling "double duty" all summer. Dannielle Martin and Kristen Clemmons have also been competing for their respective "year-round" teams and both have qualified in multiple events at the upcoming Georgia State Long Course Championships. Danielle will be representing Swim Atlanta, while Kristen will be representing Gwinnett Aquatics. Congratulations to you both and good luck at the meet.

For those of you who have enjoyed the swimming competition this summer, both Gwinnett Aquatics and Swim Atlanta are looking for new recruits. Contact information is available on their respective websites. We'd love to see you there, and I'm sure Danielle and Kristen would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Earlier, I said the Season was over ... welll at least the COMPETITION is over. There is still one more "official event"  ... the End of the Season Party ... Saturday, August 6th. .... Details are below.

Until then. Once again, it has been my pleasure to run this website for the team. Thank you for all the kind comments throughout the season. It has been a blast!

Take care ... and ... Gooooooooooooooo Connemarlins

Eric C.
