Hello ! My name is Sprocket! I am a Cairn Terrier, I think, and I was rescued!  My story is here: We also put it on the Doggie page.

Sprockets Story as Told by Mom
Found 11/27/01 (approximate 3years of age)

My husband  went mountain biking up in a remote area called Dalton Canyon on the day after Thanksgiving. He found a stray (dog) that had obviously been dumped by someone days before. He arrived home with him, mumbling how could anyone just "dump" a family member etc. etc. He was a mess, half his fur was gone and he was all scabbed over from fleas and ticks and generally dirtiness’. He was sooo hungry and scared, but didn't take long to warm up to a meal some hugs and scritches.

The little guy looked at me and I almost broke into tears (of happiness). We whisked him off to the veterinarian who gave him something to kill the fleas, medicated shampoo, crème rinse, all his booster shots and a treat. I took him home and gave him 2 baths, pulled off lots of dead fleas and ticks, brushed him, gave him a meal and introduced him to Kodiak and Homey cat. We decided it would not be such a good idea to introduce him to the rats as he is a Cairn terrier. Hubby named him Sprocket (since he found him biking), and said he was my anniversary present (our anniversary was 2 days before).

Little Sprocket is the best present I have ever received. He has slept with us every night, and is as charming as can be!

This is my FAVORITE toy!  Mom got it for me at the SPCA. She was there for a Ferrets Anonymous meeting.  She helped rescue a ferret and they invited her to come to the meeting.  He doesn't live with us, he lives with the ferret rescue people. Now back to ME!

Want to play with me?  This is a big rat!  Mom loves rats, she has them as pets.  She got me this one to play with.  It is much bigger than a real rat, but it does squeek! The real rats live in a big cage.  They are cute, but I like my rat better!
