Personal Ancestral File Tips and TricksThe bug bit me, and I'm now addicted to tracing my family history. If you're a total newbie at genealogy, you can find helpful advice at Cyndi's List or at FamilySearch, which is run by the Mormons and has not only useful how-to information but also a wealth of compiled data which you can use as clues when researching your own family lines. You can get personal genealogy advice from a volunteer at your local Family History Center. (And no, they won't try to convert you unless you want them to. I know this because I'm not a Mormon.) Personal Ancestral File is a free genealogy program, available here. I am just an avid genealogist and a willing volunteer member of the Boise PAF Users Group. |
